Does it cost anything to talk to Alexis?
No. Conversations, pre-approvals, payment scenarios, program comparisons — all free. Alexis is compensated through the loan if and when you close one, which means her only incentive is getting you into the right loan.

Alexis is licensed in Minnesota and based at Fairway’s Eden Prairie branch, serving the full Twin Cities metro and greater Minnesota. Most of the process happens by phone, text, and secure online tools, so geography inside the state is no obstacle.

How much down payment do I really need?
As little as 0% (VA, USDA), 3% (first-time conventional), or 3.5% (FHA) — and Minnesota down payment assistance can help cover it. Twenty percent avoids PMI but is not required to buy.
What will my monthly payment be?

What credit score do I need?
FHA guidelines start at 580, conventional typically 620+. Higher scores improve pricing. If your score needs work, Alexis can point out which specific changes matter most for mortgage credit.
Are rates negotiable? Can Alexis promise me a rate?
No one can honestly promise a rate before locking one — rates move daily and depend on your full scenario. What Alexis promises: transparent pricing, honest comparisons, and a lock the moment the timing is right for you.
Timing questions
How fast can I get pre-approved?
Often within 24–48 hours of submitting documents through Fairway’s secure portal. If you’ve found a house and the clock is ticking, tell Alexis — urgent files move faster.
How long does closing take?
About 30 days from accepted offer is typical. Well-prepared files can close faster when the purchase agreement calls for it.
Should I wait for rates to come down?
Nobody can time rates — not lenders, not economists, not the internet. If rates fall after you buy, refinancing is straightforward. Buy when your life and budget are ready, and let the rate be a variable you manage rather than a reason to wait.
When should I start the process if I want to buy next spring?
Now. Six-plus months out is ideal: enough runway to polish credit, build savings, and get pre-approved before the spring market wakes up. The buyers who win in April started in October.
